Salim has worked with some of the biggest entertainers in the music industry and after more than a decade he is probably amongst the few dj's to still be one of the most wanted and the most talented dj. In 2006, Salim made a huge impact on the Bollywood Scene. Due to his strong presence and high demand at the monthly Bollywood Nights parties, he has gained attention all over the SF/Metro Area. Salim has taken himself and Bollywood music to another level, whereby Bollywood music is now recognized at the mainstream level in the Bay Area.
DJ Salim’s talent began as a house-party DJ in the early 90’s, he would go to his friends’ houses and would play his mixtapes. He used to mix off the tape decks and gradually learned how to spin on turntables. His interest and knowledge for music came when he was a child and that ultimately gained him his initial status as one of the best DJ's. DJ Salim is a multi-faceted talent, in that he uses his craft to create new trends in music that shatter the limitations that are often placed on South Asian DJ's. From his innovative style, to his second-to-none knowledge for choosing just the right crowd-pleasing sound, to his unparalleled mixes, Salim exemplifies the spirit of the entrepreneurial-minded musician. He revels in the challenge of the ever-changing nature that defines the world of International music. Prime examples of Salim's versatility are his production credits. The impact Salim has had, and will continue to have, is immeasurable. He has catapulted the status of being a DJ to an actual profession.
DJ Salim is the first one in California to come out with a remix album. He was the founder of Bhangra Blasters, a group that was unparalled. Now as a part of ENVY SOUNDZ (his new production), DJ Salim is striving towards new and improved goals. DJ Salim produced many remix albums like Bhangra Power, Bollywood Club Remixes, California Mix and Real Deal Boliyan with DJ Ruby and Bhangra Power 2, California Mix 2 and Desi Bomb with DJ Riz. Many of these albums have hit #1 across the nation. His upcoming projects are working on couple nonstop mixtapes. DJ Salim is also working on an original album with the help of some local artists and the album will also feature some famous singers from UK, India and Pakistan.
DJ Salim has far exceeded the expectations of his peers, critics and fans. His love for and careful nurturing of his immense talents have enabled him to represent his music in particular with class, individuality and an intensity that is unmatched in the music profession. DJ Salim has worked with many talented musicians and performed at many different cities in the world. He has opened up for Bally Sagoo in San Francisco on Feb. 98', performed with Anamika in Dallas on new years 98', and opened up for Punjabi MC on new years 99' in SF. He has also performed with DJ Wicked in UK in 2000, with Dj Reminisce in Canada in 2002, with DJ Rocky in Dubai in 2003 and DJ Nihal in India in 2006. He also had the opportunity of performing side by side with India’s DJ Suketu & DJ Aqeel in 2006 in San Francisco.

He is one of the few DJ's who can spin both turntables and cd's, and that requires talent.
